New KTP Associate in SUDS: Maria Lucey joined Abertay on 1st June 2010 as a KTP Associate in Legacy SUDS with Scottish Water. She is a Graduate Civil Engineer with 3 years experience and will be based at Scottish Water's Glasgow office where she is working under the direction of Mr Doug Buchan. Maria is “really looking forward to the challenges ahead”.

Journey to Zero Waste - Free Event 18th February 2010

With the consultation for Scotland’s Zero Waste Strategy Plan just completed NISP Scotland, Envirowise and The Business Environment Partnership have put together an event to focus on practical ways your businesses can do to move towards zero waste. This ‘Journey to Zero Waste’ will use the waste hierarchy to give examples of what opportunities exist to help businesses save money and reduce their environmental impact.  This free to attend event will give delegates an opportunity to hear what local solutions there are to help them move up the waste hierarchy from landfill. It will also highlight what other organisations have done and what benefits they have seen to their bottom line as well as reducing their impact upon the environment.
