PGDip/MSc Industrial
Environmental Management
This course is designed for students wishing to gain a practical understanding of environmental issues associated within manufacturing and service industries. It meets the intellectual and practical needs of professionals within the polluter and regulatory organisations involved in managing pollution arising from industrial processes. The course is designed for environmental professionals working in a business environment from either a technical or non-technical background.
The programme educational aims are as follows:
From the taught modules;
- Provide students with opportunities to focus on the environmental management requirements of service and manufacturing industries.
- Equip students with the tools required to synthesise strategies/ solutions to environmental problems.
- Equip students with the knowledge and skills for a career in industrial environmental management.
From the MSc dissertation, additionally;
- Further develop student expertise for managing specific issues of environmental management in the service and manufacturing sectors.
- Develop the capability to integrate the results of detailed studies to reach conclusions in holistic problems of sustainability.
- Prepare students for senior positions of leadership and decision-making in environmental management issues in the service and manufacturing sectors.
- Enable students to acquire an academic qualification recognised by relevant professional bodies.

Study
Duration
Full
time: The course duration is 12 months, from September
to October of the following year. Students attend classes mainly
on Mondays and Tuesdays.
Part-Time:

part-time course has a minimum duration of 2½ years. Students
attend classes mainly one day per week (Mondays or Tuesdays)
in Years 1 and 2.
